Perumpillichira in a short

Perumpillichira is a small village in the Idukki district of Kerala state. It is located close to Thodupuzha the famous town in the district (3 KM from Thodupuzha). Perumpillichira is blessed with its natural beauty and lavish greenery. The name ‘Perumpillichira’ comes from the name of a large water reservoir adjacent to a Hindu temple at the heart of the village.

A major portion of the population is involved in agriculture. Rubber is the main source of income for the residents of Perumpillichira. Rubber is cultivated extensively in all parts of the village. Bananas and tapioca are the other important cultivation in Perumpillichira.

Al-Azhar College of Engineering & Technology is a higher education institution in Perumpillichira. St Joseph's Upper Primary School, Karuka LPS, Sandeepani Lower Primary School, Co-Operative Public School and Al-Azhar Public School are the primary schools in this area.

St Joseph's Church, Muhiyudeen Juma Masjid and Perumpillichira Hindu Temple are the places of worship.
